Activity Goal

The goal of this interactive activity is to provide learners with common clinical and cross-cultural scenarios that build a framework of knowledge and skills for delivering quality care to diverse patient populations.

Learner Objectives - At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to:

  • Identify how non-adherence impacts diverse populations, and contributes to racial and ethnic disparities in health and healthcare.
  • Explain the basic strategies to manage cross-cultural barriers to adherence.
  • Apply the ESFT Model™ to improve patient adherence.
  • Implement the concepts and skills of improving adherence for diverse populations with real patients in your day-to-day practice.

This activity is designed to address the following ABMS competencies: Patient Care and Procedural Skills, and Interpersonal Communication Skills.

Accreditation Statement

japice In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Cine-Med, Tufts University School of Medicine, and Quality Interactions. Cine-Med is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

This activity has been accredited for 0.10 CEU (1 credit hour) of continuing education credit.

Requirements for Successful Completion

To receive contact hours, participants must register, view the entire course content, complete the evaluation, and successfully complete the post-test with a minimum score of 70%. Contact hours will be issued through a NABP-managed online tracking system, CPE Monitor.

All pharmacists licensed in the United States and wishing to obtain ACPE credit are required to submit the following: NABP e-Profile ID and the month/day of birth in a four-digit format, e.g., January 5 = 0105 when they register for the course.

Disclosures
